On this page we spotlight selected artists: Bella Bown
A fine artist who enjoys working in a variety of medium’s (wire, photography, painting, sculpture).
“I take inspiration from the people I have met growing up, and continue to meet, living and working in and around London, and on my travels. I draw and photograph people I find interesting, and have kept sketchbooks for over 20 years which are full of drawings of people I have met drawn from memory. I have used the drawings in my sketchbooks as inspiration for my wire portraits. I like the challenge of working in wire and trying to recreate simple line drawings from my pen/pencil sketches, and also create pieces of writing in wire, using favourite quotes, poems and song lyrics. I have an ongoing photography project called the back project where I photograph people from behind, usually without their knowledge / permission – although sometimes I get caught and have to explain myself”.
